This project investigates the cultural and material significance of a ceramic shard from the Piatti Collection, positioning it as a hybrid object embodying intersections of European chinoiserie, Japanese export porcelain, and global art histories. By employing a postcolonial lens, the research examines its layered narratives—from aesthetic characteristics to its roles within shifting cultural contexts.

This ongoing process is called https://opferderumstaende.cargo.site and has 3 different parts:

2 ceramic objects, presented as a painting and on a foam pedestal, talk about specific astheatics cues of the shard, as well as question the way objects are presented and conextualized.

The third part of the artwork is a website, on which the updated research about the shard is published and updated, in order to keep the context of the artwork as correct and as flexible as possible.
